Most patients fly home five to ten days after surgery depending on the procedure. Your surgeon confirms fitness to fly at your final review.

Reduce clot risk by wearing compression stockings, walking the aisle every hour, doing calf-pump exercises, staying hydrated and taking any prescribed blood thinner. Request airport wheelchair assistance and priority boarding through your airline in advance; your coordinator can arrange this.
